My Tribute to Filipino Music

My earlier post told you that I’m into Filipino music right now, and just like the title of this post, I want to do a tribute owed to Filipino music. It’s sad but Filipino music is so underrated. A lot of bands are really good…..I mean really.. really.. good. And what can I say about the singers?…. Hands down! Lots of good singers in Philippines. I once saw an article or blog (I’m not sure which one) saying 95% of Filipinos can sing…Well.. that might be an exaggeration but I can put my two cents and say that in my opinion 75% of Filipinos can sing (excluding me LOL! ). Of course, you just have to pick the best in that 75% and may I say… that’s still pretty huge number considering the population of the Philippines is over 80 million!

I like a lot of bands/artists. They include Eraserheads (the band is already a legend, they have not even reached 50 years of age), Sandwich, Slapshock, Kjwan, Hale, Chocosci, Sarah Geronimo, Erik Santos, Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, Parokya ni Edgar, Rivermaya ……. ugh!… so many…

After this post, I’m going to put several entries of different artists/bands in the Philippines which will mainly consist of music videos and lyrics. So please continue to read…..
